What is a captcha?
Captcha stands for completely automated public turing test to tell computers and humans apart. Usually a captcha test is in the form of a distorted image that the user must read.

Why are they used on Zipplet's Stuff?
A captcha test is administered to protect a form from being submitted by a bot. A bot is an automated computer program that may do things such as sign up hundreds of accounts, or spam a guestbook. The idea is that the captcha image is too complicated for a bot to try to understand (using optical character recognition), so bots will be prevented from submitting forms.
I can't read the captcha image...
Click on the image to load a new one. If this is not supported by your browser then make sure you refresh the page until you can read the capture before filling the rest of the form. I have evaluated the captcha generator and in my oppinion the output is readable most of the time.
Unfortunately if you have a visual impairment you may be unable to read the captcha at all. Currently there is nothing that can be done about this, I do not have the resources to provide an audio captcha at this time. However, if you email me with your desired username, I may be kind enough to create your account for you.
